October is Oregon Farm to School Month!

crunch (3)

Celebrate the power of local food in Oregon schools! Each October, schools across Oregon join in a month-long celebration of farm to school activities that nourish our students, support our farmers, and strengthen our communities.

Farm to School Month is the perfect time to showcase the incredible relationships between Oregon farms and schools while creating meaningful food and agriculture experiences for students of all ages.

Athena Weston School District will participate in the Oregon Crunch-At-Once on October 23rd in recognition of Farm to School Month. The Oregon Crunch-At-Once is a joyful, synchronized moment when students across Oregon bite into locally grown apples, carrots, or other crunchy produce all at the same time. This collective crunch creates a powerful statement about the importance of local food and agriculture education in our schools.
