Ms. Stewart holds book

We're proud of our students at Weston Middle School for their incredible work in response to our One School One Book reading of "Prisoner B-3087" by Alan Gratz. After learning about WWII, the Holocaust, and the experiences of those who lived through it, our students created several projects inspired by the book. Students wrote letters as though they were journaling during that time, made "blackout" poems by redacting excerpts from the book into their own creations, and researched the concentration camps. This challenging history was examined by our students along with their teachers to provide context for the One School One Book reading. Thank you to everyone who made this program possible, especially Deb Mrowka from the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education for speaking with our students.
