1997 Girl's Track & Field Team

back to Hall of Fame Inductees: Sports Teams

• the 1997 team brought home the Girls District Championship trophy & qualified six members to compete at the state meet in multiple events

  • they won every track meet during the regular season by a wide margin

• Team members: Luanna Baumann, Denise Baumann, Michelle Baumann, Amy Clore, Bethany Hansell, Misty Krey, Lori Monaco, Amber Weatherspoon and CaSandra Zeller each scored points at the district meet

• Team members Denise Baumann, Amy Clore, Bethany Hansell, Misty Krey, Lori Monaco & Amber Weatherspoon advanced to the Oregon State Track & Field Meet

• At the state meet the Girls placed 2nd in State earning 48 points just 7 points behind Catlin Gable

  • Amy Clore finished 5th in the 100 meters, 5th in the 200 meters & 6th in the 400 meters

  • Lori Monaco was the State Champion in the 1500 meters & the 3000 meters

  • Amber Witherspoon finished 4th in the Javelin & 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles

  • the 4x4 relay of Amy Clore, Misty Krey, Lori Monaco & Amber Weatherspoon finished 5th in State

• Lori Monaco & Amber Weatherspoon still hold multiple school records
