Brandt Bannister

  • Graduated form Weston-McEwen High School in 1979

  • Class Activities: Photography, WM Honor Society

  • Athletic Accomplishments:

    • during his senior year for football he was first team all conference in offense and defense

    • was selected to play in the East-West Shrine All-Star Team for football - was unable to play due to conflict with Junior Olympics National Championships

    • set school records for track in four events, the 100m and 300m hurdles, the triple jump and the 4x400 relay

    • took the state title for the 300m intermediate hurdles and the 100m high hurdles

    • was state champion in both hurdle events during his junior year of high school

    • in 1979, he competed in the Junior Olympics

      • 400m IH - Oregon State Champion

      • Tied the senior division national record and made it to the semifinals at the national championship but was unable to make the finals due to an ankle injury

    • ran track at Whitman College, Blue Mountain Community College and Idaho State University

      • at Idaho State he took 3rd place two years running in the 400m intermediate hurdles, 2nd in the 4x400m relay and 4th in the 4x100m relay

      • the highlight of his career at Idaho State was beating the Canadian National Champion while attempting to qualify for the Olympic Trials at BYU

    • Youth Sports coach: baseball, softball, soccer, basketball

  • Graduated from Idaho State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering

  • Senior Electrical Design Engineer - US Army Corps of Engineers (Portland District) 24 yeard

  • Received numerous Design Excellence awards

  • Received "Achievement Medal for Civil Service" in 2002

  • Enjoys golf, camping, fishing and watching his children play sports

  • Married to Peggy and has a daughter Megan and son Jacob
