Lyle 'Doug' Hinkins

  • Graduated form McEwen High School in 1971

  • Athletic Accomplishments:

    • played baseball for 1 year

    • ran track for 3 years

    • played basketball and football for 4 years

    • He broke the Oregon state high school javelin throwing record at the state track meet which was in turn broken the next day by another thrower

    • attended Oregon State University where he lettered 3 years in track and was ranked as the 8th best thrower in the nation his junior year

    • His junior year he placed second at the Pac-8 Championships

    • He had hopes of making the 1976 Olympic team, however an injury early in the season did no allow him the throwing distance he needed

  • Lives in Oakesdale WA where he is employed with Land 'O Lakes

  • Is chairman of the Northwest Region of the Certified Crop Advisor program and will be President of the Far West Agribusiness Association

  • Married to Diane Hinkins and has two children
