Jim Whitney

  • Graduated from McEwen High School in 1964

  • Athletic Accomplishments:

    • 4 year letterman in football and baseball

    • earned 1st Team All-Conference and All District in Basketball during his junior and senior year

    • member of track team and won the district 440 yd dash during his junior year

    • took 1st in the district 220 yd dash and discus during his senior year

    • pitched one game of 17 strikeouts (tied for 2nd in the records)

  • received the Eagle Scout Award

  • won the Rebecca's and Odd Fellows Speech Contest for all schools in Umatilla County on the same day during his junior year

  • Attended Southern Oregon University (then called SOC) with a music scholarship in voice

  • While at SOC he played basketball, winning the conference title in his junior and senior year

    • played in the NAIA National Basketball Play-offs and was named to the First Team All Conference Team, and All District Team leading the team in scoring and rebounding averaging a double-double in points and rebounds

  • Owner/President the The Whitney Land Company and Coldwell Banker Whitney & Associates

  • Was President of the Umatilla County Board of Realtors in 1976 and 1977, State President of Realtor Land Institute of Oregon in 1999 and Regional Vice President of Realtors Land Institute in 2000
