Shireen Simpson Betts

• was very active in school activities:

  • member of the band, the pep band, the swing band

  • assistant then editor of the yearbook

  • participated in cheerleading

  • prom court princess

  • member of the thespians

  • volleyball team 

  • student council

  • president of her class

• after high school she went to Oregon State College where she continued to excel receiving a bachelor's degree in Nursing

• very active in local philanthropies

  • active with local libraries

    • she served as the librarian for the Athena library as well as served on the library board

  • served on the county's juvenile assistance committee in Pendleton

  • locally involved herself in many clubs, dinners, fundraisers and general community acitivites
