  • his educational career spanned over 37 years

    • he taught Math and Art for 6 years in Eugene Oregon and 1 year in Pendleton

    • he taught media classes for Eastern Oregon State University and Stained Glass classes for Blue Mountain Community College

    • he directed the Media Center at the Umatilla E.S.D retiring after 30 years with E.S.D

  • served on the Athena-Weston School Board for 13 years

  • he worked the Pioneer picnic for 35 years

  • past Chieftan of the Caledonian Days

  • served on the Umatilla County Historical Society Board of Directors for 30 years, where he was President 3 times

  • he served as the Chairman on Memorial Hall Board for 8 years

  • he served on AWERE Committee to disburse funds for the Athena and Weston area, donated by Florida Power (a wind generator company)

  • he designed and constructed stained glass windows for several churches in the area as well as several windows in private homes and businesses

  • he married Kathleen Bannister in 1958 and has 3 daugthers
