About 37 AWSD sixth graders enjoyed the district’s annual Outdoor School in late May. Students traveled to four locations: Weston Middle School for a preparation day, Camp ABC Mountain Retreat, Harris Park, and Corporation/Lick Creek Trail for the summative hike.
According to Matt Bryant, Program Coordinator and 6th Grade Teacher at Weston Middle School, the program was very successful this year, from weather to student engagement and learning opportunities. "Outdoor School was a tremendous success this year thanks to many knowledgeable volunteers who taught students and to the students themselves who had great attitudes and were willing to try new things,” Bryant said.
