Bond Construction Safety Zones

As the 2016 Bond Measure Projects at Athena Elementary & Weston McEwen High School kick off, we at Kirby Nagelhout Construction want to make sure everyone is aware of what to expect.  KNCC, BBT Architecture & AWSD plan on performing over $4 million dollars worth of work this summer which means a LOT of new changes will be happening but what does this mean for you?

We ask that the community generally avoid both schools and their surrounding campus during construction this summer, occurring between 6/5/17 and 8/25/17 specifically:

Athena Elementary - View Safety Zone Map (PDF)

  • Track – accessible all summer
  • Playground - NOT ACCESSIBLE
  • Parking Lot - NOT ACCESSIBLE
  • Interior of School - NOT ACCESSIBLE

Weston-McEwen High School - View Safety Zone Map (PDF)

  • Football Field – accessible all summer
  • Practice Field  – accessible all summer
  • Tennis Courts - NOT ACCESSIBLE
  • Weight Room - NOT ACCESSIBLE
  • Parking Lot - NOT ACCESSIBLE
  • Interior of School - NOT ACCESSIBLE

The first 2 weeks will include removing roofing materials which contain Asbestos.  It will be important at all times and especially during this time to respect all construction fence, barriers and workers who might request that you leave the premises for your safety.  We hope you understand that this is for your own health and best interest.

Please see maps, linked above, for locations of construction fence which will block facilities normally used by the community.  Thank you so much for your support while we work hard to revitalize these schools for you!
